Neurosurgery

Welcome to the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland!

We are a dynamic, diverse, and experienced team of physicians, researchers, and support specialists. Our collective goal is to deliver exceptional patient care, train and inspire the next generation, and discover new treatment strategies for neurosurgical diseases and conditions.  We believe in nurturing a culture of safety, inclusion, and diversity as a means of achieving excellence in these goals.

This is an exciting time in healthcare and the field of neurosurgery in particular.  Advances in diagnostic technologies enable earlier disease interventions, tailored precisely to each patient’s condition which are designed to minimize the impact on quality of life and patient function, accelerating healing. Neurosurgery is at the forefront of these advances with minimally invasive tools for brain and spine procedures, image-guided and endovascular approaches, liquid biopsy and biomarker techniques, and more.  At the University of Maryland, we are actively implementing and further improving upon these advances in our neurosurgical clinics, laboratories, and operating rooms.
